The Hotel Villa Honegg was built in 1905 and opened 1906 by Emil Durrer with 72 guest beds. Hotel guests came from all over the world and stayed for three to four weeks, sometimes for the entire summer. The Hotel Villa Honegg was a typical family business spanning three generations. It has been privately owned since 2007 and reopened in May 2011 after several years of renovation.
